Paper Template

Submission and camera-ready papers should follow the JDS paper template. The JDS template is a single-column, 10pt font, 25-page template. An unlimited appendix is allowed. Note that 25 pages is the upper limit allowed. There is no lower limit.

To promote diversity, inclusion, and fairness, JDS utilizes double-blind reviewing. Authors should not put their names in their submissions and should do a reasonable effort to anonymize the paper and any additional resources they provide (code/data) accordingly. Papers that obviously violate double-blind practices will not be reviewed

The JDS template includes a title page. The title page should be present in both submissions and camera-ready versions of a paper. The goal of a title page is to give a quick overview of the paper’s scope. Beyond the paper’s title, as well as author details (for camera-ready versions), the title page also includes a significance statement and reproducibility details. These are explained below.

01. A significance statement which describes the contributions and potential impact of this work in the broad data science field.

The significance statement needs to be in non-expert language so that it is accessible by everyone in the diverse communities of JDS. We expect the significance statement to describe the problem solved, why it is important, why it is hard, the limitations in existing work, the core idea towards the solution, and the potential impact in other areas of data science. The significance statement should be 2-3 short paragraphs. Once a paper is accepted the authors will receive feedback on the significance statement for their final version.

02. Reproducibility details

Publicly accessible repositories for the data and code used in the paper.
